Euro 2008 Qualification Preview: Group E
When you delay it this long, you kind of forget that there has actually been a match played in this group. Just under two weeks ago, Goce Sedloski scored the only goal in a 1-0 win for Macedonia over Estonia. Unfortunately, this doesn’t really change anything for them.
The Fodder: Andorra has only one competitive win in its history, which was against Macedonia, but not enough to see them do anything in this group. Estonia is off to a poor start as they needed at least a point from their opening match at home. Macedonia are the best of the fodder sides, but any team who loses to Andorra has a lot to do to regain respect.
Will Walk This Group: England. Steve McClaren has a superior team to anyone in this group, and he should lose his job if they fail to qualify.
The Battle for Second: Croatia always seem to qualify for major tournaments, and they have a good team. Russia have the managerial might of Guus Hiddink, which should see them improve dramatically. Israel might be considered a bit of a surprise, but they went unbeaten in World Cup qualifying.
