The Melancholy of Nicolas Anelka
New £8 million signing Nicolas Anelka had a few words to say today regarding his reputation for being a part-time elite striker and full time whinger. Would he say anything that would change that? In a word, no.
Now with his fourth Premiership club (after Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City each made good profits off of selling him), the French international has criticized those who may question his loyalty. In fact, he was so loyal to the cause of Fenerbahçe that he did not bother to sell his home in Manchester.
Then he dropped this bombshell which should have Trotters fans worried.
“I just want to do my best for Bolton and playing in the Champions League would help me settle.”
Well maybe Bolton can turn a record profit off of some unsuspecting German club next season.
