Deadline Day Recap: Spain and Italy

Not to be forgotten are the two other highest rated leagues in Europe, as they conclude their own deals on deadline day.

Villarreal have shockingly paid Arsenal to take Pascal Cygan off their hands.

Jose Antonio Reyes’ whinging has paid off as he has finally moved to Real Madrid on loan with Julio Baptista going to Arsenal.

Palermo have convinced Amauri to wear a pink shirt this coming season.

Levante have stolen Jose Molina from under the nose of Sam Allardyce.

Villarreal have signed their own Argentine international in Fabricio Fuentes from Mexican side Atlas.

Espanyol have signed Paulo Peixoto from Porto.

Atletico Madrid have given up on Kiki Musampa and sent him to Trabzonspor.

Torino have strengthened the best team in Turin with the signings of Stefano Fiore and Masashi Oguro, who will of course be bringing in that all important Asian revenue.

Milan has sent Johann Vogel to Real Betis for Ricardo Oliveira.
